The average savings have been 25% of the heating bill. (If you care to look at a real life example in a domestic home please visit the bottom of "HouseHeat v TRVs"  under the More Information section on the left side of this page, where a client achieved 76% saving). When our unique boiler control is added to the system a further 8 -12 % saving can be made. The product can be installed in minutes. Simply unscrew your existing TRV head and screw the househeat valve in its place. No plumbing required.

Payback on outlay is normally a year to a year and a half,  which will become less as gas and oil prices increase. 

Why is HouseHeat better than Thermostatic Radiator Valves? (TRVs)?

 

  • TRVs are attached to the radiator so they are measuring air temperature at the hottest point which is inaccurate. In our opinion the worst place to measure temperature.

   HouseHeat measures temperature at the wireless room thermostat away from the radiator which is crucial as the thermostat is placed where ever the person is sitting in the room so it is measuring temperature around the person. The thermostat is able to detect ambient air temperature as it is away from the radiator and will mean as heat rises the radiators upstairs will have to open far less than those downstairs saving a huge amount of energy. If it is in a south facing room  it will have to open the radiators less than a north facing room This means water and heat are dispersed to other parts of the building which are calling for it. . The same is true as the year cools down and warms up in the spring. Resulting in big savings. Something you would never get if the thermostat was sitting next to the radiator.

  •  Do you turn off your radiator each time you leave a room?

   The user can pre-program HouseHeat for two periods of higher/comfort setting and two periods of lower set back setting in a day. The  system will then automatically run to the set cycle on a room by room basis  to heat to the desired temperature automatically and turn the radiators down automatically so you don't have to remember . The wheel on the HouseHeat sytem allows the user to override the settings if they are staying in the room longer or leave earlier. 

  • TRVs can be inaccessible, so very often they don't get adjusted. 

HouseHeat has a wireless range of 50m so you can adjust all the radiators in that room or zone from your armchair it will communicate through radiator covers, and furniture. If required a window sensor  can be added to the system which will detect if a window is opened and will close down the radiators in that room.

  • TRVs central pin sticks as they are left in one position and deposits build up such as limescale etc.

   HouseHeat will automatically clean the pin so it never sticks and the water flows freely through the radiator.

  •  TRVs don't talk to the boiler.

HouseHeat has a special boiler box which receives signals from the thermostats and shuts down the boiler automatically when it reaches temperature. A important feature.

  •  TRVs cant detect the ambient air temperature as they are connected to the radiator

Example -bedroom

TRVs left on all day at say position 4 which is about 22.5 degrees

HouseHeat set temperature in bedroom to 21.5 degrees between 9pm and 10.30 pm.

HouseHeat reduces temperature to 18 degrees when you are asleep (this is the ideal sleeping temperature for all of us) between 10.30pm and 7 am.

HouseHeat increases temperature to 21.5 degrees between 7 am and 8.30 am

HouseHeat decreases temperature when you have left the bedroom to 18 degrees between 8.30 am and 9pm

Result HouseHeat is on higher temperature for 3 hours out of 24. TRVs are on 24 hours out of 24!
